SGSI is a top leading sharpening company based out of Stacy, MN, offering our diverse services to the Midwest since 1978. We have an experienced team that specializes in many different fields such as woodworking, metal working, food industry and rubber industries.

At SGSI, we stay ahead of times with investing into state of the art equipment. Recently adding our 3^rd Anca FX7 to the floor allowing us to sharpen and manufacture tooling with precise turn around times. We have also recently added a Vollmer CHD270 into our fleet of Vollmers. This piece of equipment provides us the ability to sharpen any tooth geometry on your saw blade with accuracy and speed.

Service Grinding and Sharpening

Under the new ownership of Jon and Jessica Thielen, Service Grinding and Sharpening Inc. (SGSI), continues its legacy as a major sharpening service provider in the Midwest. Since its inception in 1978, SGSI has evolved from a single-machine operation to a state-of-the-art facility. Showcasing this in our brand-new facility in Stacy, MN. We offer precision sharpening for a diverse range of tools, including woodworking tools, metalworking tools, food industry knives and rubber industry blades. We have a dedicated team of experienced machine operators and an on-the-road salesman. We provide both pick-up and delivery options within a 150 mile radius of the Twin Cities.

As a testament to our commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction, SGSI not only sharpens but also supplies new blades and stock products from reputable brands. The company’s recent expansion into manufacturing their own CNC tooling line, Armada Tools, showcases their dedication to quality and craftsmanship.

Jon Thielen

Jon is dedicated to his work and the growth of the business. He balances his time between long hours at the shop and spending quality time with his family. In the winter months, he likes to sneak away for trips with his snowmobile to the mountains.

Jess is balancing life in the office and being a mom, to their five-year-old daughter, Brynn. While her daughter keeps her busy, she still tries to take time for her passions of crafting and traveling.

Brett is a family man who not only has a military background in the Marines is also a proud father of a daughter in the Navy. He likes to spend his spare time camping in his RV with his wife and two black labs.
